A period one-bedroom apartment reimagined into a highly functional two-bedroom home for a freelance musician and theatre producer. The redesign optimises space, seamlessly balancing work and relaxation.

At its heart, the open-plan kitchen and living area maximise natural light and adaptability. Streamlined aesthetics, terrazzo tile accents, and a curated mix of vintage and contemporary furniture create a refined yet inviting atmosphere, with bespoke joinery and integrated storage maintaining a clean, cohesive look.

The snug room serves as both a guest bedroom and music studio, featuring acoustic panelling for sound optimisation. The primary bedroom incorporates Venetian plaster paint finishes, bespoke shelving, a workstation, and a tailored wardrobe, ensuring every inch of space is used efficiently.

The reconfigured bathroom now features a standalone statement bath and walk-in dual shower, while the former bathroom footprint has been repurposed into a compact utility room for added functionality.

This renovation delivers a thoughtfully designed home that adapts effortlessly to the owners’ professional and personal lifestyles.

Timeless Spatial Design

Smart, stylish design that maximises space for contemporary living.

We undertook a major renovation of our 54sqm basement flat in Seven Dials (named as one of the most attractive neighbourhoods in the UK in the 20's). It was the only way to afford staying here while gaining an extra bedroom. Carly visited the site and advised on the most effective way to re-imagine the spaces with the minimal amount of structural upheaval. Her understanding of space was a revolution in the way we ended up designing the house and we couldn't have utilised the apartment as well without her invaluable design.
